...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 9 AM TO 6 PM CST SUNDAY FOR WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY ACROSS SOUTHEAST TEXAS... ...FIRE WEATHER WATCH IN EFFECT FROM SUNDAY EVENING THROUGH MONDAY AFTERNOON FOR WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR SOUTHEAST TEXAS... The National Weather Service in Houston/Galveston has issued a Red Flag Warning for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect from 9 AM to 6 PM CST Sunday. * WINDS...North 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph on Sunday afternoon. On Monday, north winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts to 25 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 15 percent in the driest locations. Even to the Gulf beaches, relative humidity values in the 25 to 35 percent range are forecast. * IMPACTS...any fires that develop will be capable of spreading rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended. Obey all local burn restrictions and burn bans. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now...or will shortly. A combination of strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures will create explosive fire growth potential.
