Open Waters from Winthrop Harbor to Wilmette Harbor out to Mid Lake... At 1010 PM CDT, strong thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 26 nm northwest of St. Joseph Light to 21 nm northeast of Harrison-Dever Crib to Wilmette Harbor, moving southeast at 35 knots. HAZARD...Wind gusts to nearly 50 knots and small hail. SOURCE...Buoy. IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. Strong thunderstorms will remain over mainly open waters. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Roads and streets may be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - An area of thunderstorms with rain rates up to one to two inches per hour is expected to move through the area this evening through the overnight hours.
